A sock is more than a tube: it turns a heel, picks up a gusset, runs the length of your foot and closes at the toe. The Custom-Fit Sock Recipe carries your cast-on through every one of those steps for the classic top-down heel-flap sock. Part 1 measures the foot, swatches, finds the cast-on with negative ease, and sizes the yarn and needles. Part 2 is one page per step: cuff and leg, heel flap, heel turn, gusset pick-up and decreases, the foot (subtracting the toe's length so you know when to start it) and a wedge toe to graft. Part 3 puts every number on one recipe card, with a table worked for nine common cast-ons. Assumes you can knit in the round, pick up stitches and decrease.
