Row Counter
Click through your rows and see exactly where you are in the repeat, and how far you are from your target.
Progress
More than a tally
A plain row count only tells you how many rows you've worked. This counter also maps that number onto your pattern's repeat — how many full repeats are behind you, and exactly which row of the current one you're on — which is the number that actually tells you what to knit next.
Set a target row count (a cuff length, a heel-flap depth, a whole project) and the tool also tracks how far along you are and how many rows remain.
Frequently Asked Questions
What counts as a 'repeat length'?
It's however many rows (or rounds) your pattern's repeating section spans before it starts over — an 8-row lace chart, a 4-round cable twist, or a 6-row stripe sequence. Enter that number and the counter tells you where the current row falls within the repeat, which catches the easy-to-miss slip of losing track partway through.
Does this replace a physical row counter?
Not necessarily — a mechanical clicker on your needle survives being away from a screen, and plenty of knitters use both. This tool adds something a clicker can't: it maps your row onto the pattern's repeat and a target total automatically, instead of just tallying a raw number.
Will my count be saved if I close the page?
No — the counter resets when you leave or reload the page, since nothing is stored on our end (see our Privacy Policy). If you need to close your browser mid-project, jot the current row down somewhere before you go, or keep a physical counter running alongside this one.
